California Foil Spots for beginners

I am heading to California on September 27th. Looking for suggestions within 1-2 hours of Huntington Beach if anyone knows of any great beginner foiling spots. Thanks!

Several miles North (or South I guess) of the pier are open beach breaks where you can foil. That’s pretty much all there is in that area. Otherwise there is San Onofre. Foils have to stay South of the surfers. Get in touch with the foil shop in seal beach. @foilwithme on instagram is in HB I think.

Seal Beach Jetty river mouth, 3.5ft tide or higher.

San Onofre (extreme south end of the beach, past the “OK” signs and near the nuclear power plant)

San Onofre - to the south of Dog Patch = ideal foiling location.

I think huntington beach is great for foiling. Powerful enough wave to chip in regardless of tide…then you just pump out and about and around. Anywhere in HB is great. Just watch out for angry surfers.

Tried this spot SUPfoiling this week on a visit down south. It was great! But you have to be pretty quick to cut out early in the beach break and link - also caught a groundswell on the outside that made a clean triple, woo!
