KT dragonfly crossing

Anyone have any experience with the new kt crossings? I’m currently on the barracuda V1. 7’8’’ 98liters. Thinking about switching over to kt. The dims would be pretty similar but I’m interested in the concave deck the kt has and also the longer and better placed tracks on the KT. Anyone got and info on the new Kt boards?

I’m on a 8’x19x105L custom that was I think a proto version of the crossing, as it was one of Kane’s old boards and nearly identical dims of the 8’ production model. I think they changed the tail to be less wide and have a bit more volume in the prod model, more like the original than what I have. The tail design on mine demands a fairly forward stance while paddling and thus I’m pretty much at the front of my boxes.

I like the dims, I don’t notice the extra length over my old 7’4". stability and paddle speed are much better on the newer crossing design I think. Also end up with a pretty narrow stance and don’t notice the concave deck having any adverse effect.

I’ve been riding Kalama customs and productions since the beginning of my DW journey. Tried KT V1 and 7’10" crossing yesterday. I found the hull characteristics still the same in that great board speed but sacrifice tracking and stability. The step has a great connected feel to the foil. The concave deck didn’t bother me but my feet are tens. Friend said his 13s were a little tight on the deck.

Thanks, I have a size 9 so I’m not
To worried about that. My wing board has some concave on the deck and I actually like the feeling of bracing my foot against the rising edge. Feels like I can get a little more leverage on some turns. Could you feel any noticeable difference between the KT v1 and the v2 crossing?

Been so long I don’t recall. But what struck me was how similar the hull tracking behaved. After recently trying the Armstrong the KT shape is something to get used to.

So what is your current downwind board since you’ve tried kalama, kt, and Armstrong?

Still on Kalama custom
