KaneDW prone board

Hi there!

I’ve been watching Kane DW for a while and I’m a big fan of the marlin series tails.

Anyone here prones the drifter 4?
The tendency seems to be longer w less volume than previous years.

Prone foiling wise, his boards(KT) seem to have. A further back placement on the tracks, and an obvious large square tail, the drifter V4 seems to be the one closest to what he rides (even though the bottom at the tail changes from the one he rides).

Any other brands are doing this similar shape?

Thanks
Oli

Prone foil board trends are interesting because they are splitting into two completely different directions.

You have the Amos Kruzer with more length, narrow and remain thin (I have ordered 1) where the idea is you only add more length to make wave catching easier but dont add a bunch of volume like todays “mid lengths” going up to 50L making the boards heavy and bulky with no additional benefit (for prone specifically).

Then there are chopped tail boards like that, the JS Bennette’s, and Amos Nano and I have seen an F One board like that also going even shorter than the normal prone board designs like 4’0 and below.

I think you just gotta choose based on the shape of your waves. I dont have steep punchy waves that I believe those chopped tail boards would thrive in but more rolly tall waves that I need more length to get into so I went with Kruzer. I would like to have a Nano like board because it looks like it would be very responsive and fun but the wave catching at my spot would be very questionable.

His actual board line is their super k I believe. They look good.

Only similar board is maybe the omen flux. I ride the 36l prone and the 60l on wing. The nice thing is they’re perfectly interchangeable. Put the mast in the same track marker on both. I didn’t have to figure out a new mast placement. Collaboration with apple tree.
