I have heard zero noise, but my usage is with a zip pod foil drive or surfing behind a boat (slower speeds and freshwater.)
People should note that I am riding the Clydesdale mast, which is not normally targeting parawinging. Most people probably have/want the Forged mast.
I have two sizes also. I came from a UHM mast and this feels stiffer. The feedback is also more immediate which is probably related. I surprised myself by getting out of situations I would normally fall in due to this the first time I took it out.
It is also faster than my old mast. My old mast was pretty thick though.
Would I rather it be quiet? Yes, but it hasn’t been a deal killer.
What foil setup are you running?
Uni progression 140, 170, and evo 175, med fuse, progression or 14.5 afterburner. And my cedrus is the 78 forged.
Interesting, I have been riding the Evo 155, med fuse, and 14.5AB. The noise is lower than my previous setup but not completely quiet.
Are you running a shim?
Well, the majority is with the zip pod and foil drive so I would imagine there must be some dampening effect. But I’ve never heard anything while wakefoiling either, though its 10-12 mph and frestwater.
I took my Takoon 1750 out with an alternative tail (still with the rubber shim) and it hardly made any noise at all.
I also took out my Atlas 1340+170 on my Clydesdale and it doesn’t make loud noise but it does make some odd noises as well you can feel a bit of vibration in your feet.
I would say this is a mast for 1000+ sq cm wings prone. 800+ powered (wing, FD, Etc)
