Yes it faster faster, looser and you have more control.
Apex mast is the real upgrade, I was not a super fan of KT foils with the original mast, was better with a One Ocean and the Apex was really the mast that made me switch to KT.
To give ou an idea, prefer the Atlas 790 with Apex 77 than the Code R series with 80+ mast for 50km downwinds ; this is how much it unlocks the foil !
Interesting. A friend of mine is speculating a lot of the hype around F4 is that their mast is just a huge step forward. He thinks foil gains at this point are less dramatic, but the difference in mast and how itʻs working with their foils is the real magic. Maybe same thing going on here.
The mast is a large part of it but I think with F4 it’s a combination. They’ve refined a lot of things and brought it together in a super tight package.
I demo’d the Orca 800 and thought ‘yeah it’s pretty good but nothing paradigm shifting’ but then tried the Orca 685 and was shocked at how great it felt. Nearly as easy to get on foil, crazy low stall speed, tight turns, fast, glidey, pumps well and zero learning curve, just worked great.
I prefer carving on my nomad 830 (with one ocean mast) but gee, what an eye opener.
F4 are pushing the efficiency in all areas i think. Masts, fuses and foils but for non racing,riding low energy, the Orcas are a long way ahead even on the RC 13mm mast. Its easy to say its the mast but it just isn’t. The foils are amazing and easy to ride with incredible range and they turn so nice.
The thing with F4 is that they already had very very good mast options !
I tested a lot of masts (Axis Ultra, F4 RC / AX, One SS / SSS, Code UHM, Lift UHM, AFS UHM / Skinny… but not the F4 SR), and to me the KT Apex is the best I ever had.
There are probably better options depending on your sport / front wings / weight but it is really a S tiers mast in my opinion.
And the previous HM 15.5mm mast is “meh”… I mean it is ok, it does the jobs but it is not a very good mast. So you will definitely feel a huge improvement going with the Apex.
I know AWSI is around the corner. Is this going to be a quiet year for KT? They seemed to have released a lot recently on the foil side. Titanium fuse?
For sure they’ll bring out a carbon or titanium fuse because I just bought a Code setup to get away from my KT alu fuse 
Haha, I might actually be goin the opposite way. Not sure yet. It doesnʻt seem like a huge deal, just gotta break um down every session. I actually just wish they had a middle size fuse tho.

Has anyone actually had an issue with the aluminum fuse? I leave mine together for a few days at a time and have never had an issue yet. Is anyone applying something to the threads or am I just over thinking it?
No personal experience with the aluminum fuse (looking to switch to kt from fone), but I believe people in this thread were mentioning some of the products they use for fuse longevity.
Unrelated observation, seems like KT may be gearing up for some gen 2 releases of their wings. I noticed on the site that nomad and atlas are listed as gen 1s… the other recent wings (halo and solus) are not listed as such. If this is intentional, maybe a refresh is about release?
No problems here. I have two fuselages and I leave mine assembled for weeks as well in a Big Setup and a Small Setup arrangement. I spray WD40 into the threads whenever I change foils and usually do both front and back when I do that.
I have to remove the fuselages from the mast to get it in my car, but I spray the mast threads each time session as well.
Mine has some corrosion, one spot on the edge of the front wing seat that’s a bit disconcerting. It would be nice to see a zinc added.
Leave my gear assembled months at a time- zero issues with KT Alu fuse.

I’m in salt water and never wash it, but always disassemble plane from mast ; and sometimes front / back wing from fuse.
I had really bad experience with corrosion on Axis foil, but from what I see with KT, it will take like 1 year for the fuselage to be « ugly » but still very usable.
Considering a Titanum will cost 3-4 times the price of an aluminum one, corrosion alone is not an argument for me.
I expect stiffness and / or thinner fuselage. And I find the KT to be already pretty thin.
I often leave mine assembled but always well rinsed. Bad pitting on both sides and the tip of the front connection, as well as the bolt holes. I started to use an air duster on there and found that quite a lot of water will come out from a seemingly dry setup. It seems our ocean is super salty too!
