Whichever company can pay Cash to ride assist can win foil assist too.
Did he show up to Kernow?
yeah he did but seemingly the assist attendance was spotty for non-affiliates seemingly. Didn’t see any of the Armstrong crew doing it. (side note: I found it funny but Cash riding in prone is not in sync with waves as he is strapped or wing, quite surprising but the timing is way off compared to the guys that surf more.
I think interesting that Duotone swept the podium. The conditions were way overhead and super messy chunky sidewash crap (as is typical here), I would say that in those conditions doing anything to impress the judges, and I think you could say that the gear played a part. Will be interesting to see how it develops
here is a hot take: Foil Drive is going to move into mass market schools, as a cheaper more robust modular alternative to an efoil, that enables the existing wing foil gear that wing schools already have to be reused as efoils. Where that leaves the top end prone scene is anyones guess
Agree, Backpack is much more natural than restricting movement with a Hip-mount system. But for me in Waves, the Trenchboard still feels better. To my riding style the better responsiveness of the lighter board in Backpack Mode only makes a difference in Pumping. (Using Mantafoils EVO, either in 32L Trenchboard, or with a 16L Pumpboard when used with Backpack) So in Flatwaterpumping I prefer the Backpack. But in Waveriding I still prefer the “inboard” way of riding. From my point of view the weight discussion is overrated for the 80% of non-pro riders in the market…
