Hey all! Any one have any experience with the new uni disco butter prone board yet?
I have a Portal shape that the Disco Butter is based on - and I love it with no complaints. But I’m not particularly good at foiling so probably couldn’t pick the differences between boards anyway
Picking up on an old thread. Thanks for sharing ur experience. I finally picked up the 36 l disco butter to replace my FFB Techno 2 (which I loved). I am three sessions in to the new board and comparatively, it is a rocket ship. The DB paddles so nicely and is super stiff to the point I think I’ve gained 30% on my pump versus the old board. I highly recommend it. I am looking at the Midlength version to wing and for spots that have a really long paddle.
Should also mention that the mast track placement makes sense and the board feels nicely narrow so that u can lay down turns.
These boards were based off the Portal designs, but do they also use the Portal construction?
Any idea on durability or overall quality?
I am also curious as to the construction. Not a lot of build information on their website.
Not sure about construction and durability is tough as I have only had the board for 2+ months. I have ridden it a bunch though (Dawn Patrol is telling me I have had 200 waves in September and 185 in August) and it still looks and feels good (stiff and no dings).
I emailed Unifoil about board construction when ordering my Unifoil board because I couldn’t find out much on the Unifoil website. This is the replied email response from Patrick Israel “Our boards are full carbon with EPS foam.”
Very descriptive!
I’d just call him at the Foil Shop in Seal Beach…I emailed a question, got a short not super helpful reply but he said to call and I did and he took a ton of time giving me a full explanation and more…super helpful conversation
High density foam sandwich with carbon outer over EPS or just carbon over EPS?
More importantly, are the boxes set in HD foam that connects to the deck laminate?
They do not use the same construction as Portal
