Love pure proning in paradise, but having a small outboard boat to tow u in (or a ski if u have budget) makes scoping prone spots so much quicker/faster/easier
Indo, South Pac, Micro, Latin America, Africa the little Yamaha 15 Enduros are ubiquitous. Frugal for a 2stroke but enough grunt to get up easy. And pretty straightforward to flush if get rolled in the waves.
The 40 and 60 Enduros in comparison are thirsty and rip yr arms out, esp with a rookie tow driver.
Pretty cool doin whole days spent scoping and foiling breaks without another foiler within cooee eh!

A little boat would have been perfect. Luckily I got the best of both worlds and scored surfing as well.
Botik is where im planning to go…but more for the spearfishing
I stayed at Botik. It was a good time there. The island is unreal. They have 3 boats so you’ll have all the access to the spots you want to go.
Thanks, surfing is crowded all over Mentawai’s nowadays. I just bring my fishing gear and rent boards when im there.
its not that crowded mid day. We got a ton of sessions with just us out.

Well next time you plan a trip let me know. I been going solo…which is fun but not as fun with like minded individuals
