Started with Armstrong then Axis and never shimmed. After switching to Unifoil Progression I noticed that when pumping I wasn’t dropping out because my legs gave out, more from having to fight to keep height. Out of curiosity I tried a positive 0.5 tail shim on the P200/Med Fuse/13.5 tail, I noticed the difference on my first wave, more control turning and much easier to maintain pump height. Didn’t notice much of a speed penalty.

That’s really cool. Do you shimming the stabilizer or the mast base?
Rear stabilizer.

What shim did you have before trying the +0.5 shim?
Have always used only 0.0 on everything.
It is wild that + .5 can completely change the feel of a foil. That extra front foot pressure lifts the foil right up on the pump and it loosens up the roll for fun turns

adding a 1’ shim to my setup prevented me from breaching all the time. Now I dont breach anymore. I might change it to half a degree cus Im now trying to work on my pump. The shim has def been a gemchanger for me as Im just getting starting prone foiling.
