Thoughts on Aluula Wings?

None of my AA canopies were tight from day 1. The aluula canopy shrinks so making it super tight leads to issues is what I’ve been told. Supposedly there were dynamo issues with this too.

I have 3 seasons on OR A series 4M + 5M. 60-70 sessions on both of them. The canopies are stretched out but they still ride great. The yellow coating is flaking off but the air frames are still very stiff.

Here are the reasons why I think Aluula is worth it:

  • Weight- there is not substitute for light weight. Lighter wings feel better but the main reason why light weight is better is LESS Fatigue. Over Long session its less stress on your body.
  • Stiffness- they maintain their frame shape when getting hit with gusts and pumping.
  • Pumping- the stiffness allows you to pump quicker and get you up on foil quicker.
  • Longevity- even though the canopy is blown out the airframe is solid and I’ll keep riding them until they fall apart.
