Trash-Bag Brands

Most videos show people having both hands right up against the front line attachment points (sometimes stacked) of the bar. As if it’s a struggle to get ones hands far enough forward. Why not extend the bar a hand length so one hand can be on either side of the front line attachment point?

Here’s a pic of an R1 V5. At least as much anhedral as any parawing. Other pics on Ozone’s site show this better. This pic though shows more how far we have to go in elimanating lines. There are only A and B line tiers + the brakes on the biggest sizes with 3+ cell gaps between attachment points.

It could be that this radical line elimination won’t be possible without a bottom skin. Bet they will figure it out though.

Dunno if this has been posted already:

Gong Neutra 2.5m in too light wind. Not enough for foiling.

Definitely going to be interesting to see what ozone comes up with. Hard to argue that they are not the brand with the best setup to develop a parawing given successful commercial lines of kites, wings and paragliders. Plus they have their own factory

Similarly for the Flysurfer brand with their paragliding background (parent company Skywalk), and all their experimentation in radical pulley systems with their other company Flare.

Kind of feels like a cop-out that their first release is just an adapter for their Peak kites. Hopefully they have something more meaningful in development!

It’s amazing how much money is on the sidelines right now , waiting to pounce on the first solid well priced option

Definitely.

The Flysurfer Peak version 6 is about to release any day now for $679 USD with long lines and bar in the 4m size. All us early adopters know we’re getting hosed on the prices.

It feels like the early adopters that paid $120,000 for Cybertrucks. They can’t give them away for $79,000 6 months later.

At least we are having the most fun!

Agreed but they won’t rush junk to market as they have the cash flow to sit back and watch. Likely they’ll just put out a solid but simple design eventually that appeals to a broad spectrum of the market (like the Wasp series of wings).

That actually looks like a direct knock off of the Flow. If only the poor guy had a breeze. If it’s under 400 bucks I might even Pre-order this vaporware :joy:

The one that everyone’s been waiting for!

Well here we go! Looking forward to seeing the first reports on the ozone version.

Looking at the video it’s actually most remarkable how similar it looks to the rest. Seems the feature most are waiting for the biggest improvement on is now the price, doubt Ozone is looking to be a leader in that category though.

Ozone usually plays the upper end of the market i am afraid…

To my eye, the Ozone looks more like the Flow, than the BRM.
I got my Flow tracking number this morning. It shipped direct from Sri Lanka.

The flow has more structure in the leading edge than most other brands including the Ozone. I suspect that’s part of why we are seeing some reports that the flow doesn’t pack down as small as other brands. It’s all about trade offs in design

Agree that the Ozone looks far more packable than some of the other offerings.

FiveO seems to be the clear winner in pack-down, followed by BRM. Looks like the Ozone sits closer to the BRM in terms of packability. Time will tell!

About what we expected… Basically the V1 Wasp of parawings.

NEXT!

I see more full panel segments in the Ozone. Fewer segments in the Flow, with in between mini panels.

What does the number of panels mean for riding characteristics? Can you explain?

No idea. Do any of us really know what we are talking about? haha

 To be fair it’s too early to say, but yeah this is a terrible piece of marketing. Boring footage, and all they said was that it might depower and has the “ozone feeling”.
