Fylsurfer pow v2 and new double skin just listed on Mackite

pricing seems very reasonable on both. $1100 for a 4m double skin

Really enjoy the v1 POW. A lot more fun/ responsive to gybe than the pocket rocket v1 Imo (owned both), no line tangle issues on redeploy, A- lines set up in a way where you can douse them all easily. Of course their major Achilles heel was line length.

hoping it’s the same up wind and flying characteristics on these new ones, just with shorter lines!

Wish they would have done a hybrid! well, maybe next year

Had 1st session on my S3 4.2. I am in love. Gets going like a LEi and rips upwind like a LEI. The D-handle is nice once I figured out the nuances. It isn’t as easy turning as the KA’a but I figured out how to do it. Its more of a kite foil style jibe up and over rainbow. The drift is first in class for ripping off the wind and slashing toeside. I could just park it and forget about it. It is much more comfortable in overpowered gusts than others with its depower from the D handle. It is the fastest para I have flown. I could mach off wind with no speed limit. Dousing is no problem. It completely collapses with an easy pull of the 2 a-lines. Great work Greg!!!

Looks like whoever listed it forgot to make it a draft product, then realized the mistake and it disappeared.

It was online long enough for Google to index it though:

I have never been so fast and tight upwind on a parawing before. Ive spent a good 1 hour + (beach break conditions) on the stash v2, power pack, frigate, quest, d flow v2, and so many hours on the v2 BRM’s, this s3 is a whole new redefine of the parawing.

Looking for some sizing recommendation :

current own the new North Rover 5.0 and 3.5. Tested the 3.5 on a windy day and back to back with the OZ PR 3.0. The North 3.5 even given the size difference seemed way more powerful and unmanageable. I am guessing I was hitting the limit of the useable wind range (26 knots and up) and the top end of the North rover felt limited. Full control on the PR. But maybe that 0.5 sq m makes the difference?

now looking for a smaller PW to complement the north 3.5. There is a 2.0 Takoon Cloud or 2.5 Flysurfer POW for sale here secondhand , anyone with experience of the sizing on these? I guess it would be for 25 knots and up…

obtaining another rover is not possible unless I pay full price and for that price I would rather go for an ozone PR or quest…

not knowing the board size, 2.5 pow works with way less wind than that. at 25kt, you might be able to use the 1.7 .

That’s actually what I was thinking… which is why I hesitated with the 2.5 sized POW

Using Takoon’s here but only starting out. I have a 3m cloud one, mate has a 3m cloud, both of us well powered up once it hits 20knts, as in no problem getting going even with lack of experience (like 2 sessions!) and while a handful in gusts, manageable. We are already considering the smaller sizes, cloud has a 2.5m, cloud one just has a 2m but might be too small for us. Haven’t tried anything else - still learning

Can someone comment on the wind range of the pow 2.5 with an efficient -25l sinker board (appletree ml 57)? Not sure whether to get a 2.5 wing or pw as a smaller option for my next trips. Currently I have a 4m gong pw and reedin 3.8 wing

Flysurfer numbers for 75kg rider:

Seems spot on. As long as the BC is in the neutral position

You really need to demo a POW prior to purchase. They are a strange beast and personally crossed them off my list after one use.

Take some getting used too, but can be had a good deal. More challenging to fly vs frigate or kanaha or others.

I can get up 18 knots on dw board. -15L board needs closer to 20, but i will use my 4m up to 22 knots steady

lots of people hold the POW bar in the wrong spot. its quite an easy wing to fly beautifully. great upwind, stable, good pump, great low end. packs well.

Talking about the POW, in larger sizes. Would you say a Pocket Rocket V1 5m will have more low end than POW 4m? I guess that in theory, yes, cause the PR1 5m is larger. But a lot of people say that POW 4m has tons of low end… even more than some larger wings from other brands.

its def very close. also POW is a lot more pumpable because it holds its shape better than PR.

more generally this is to say that take off ability = grunt+pumpability.
