Hey everyone, as the title suggests, I can’t seem to find any trench boards that come with an insert for the trench so that it could be used without the foil drive and have the mast baseplate flush with the bottom (as in a normal prone board). I don’t have a trench board, just use my 4’11 Kruzer for both assisted and unassisted. Thought there is probably a gap in the market for people who may want the trench benefit but don’t want to own two boards!
You could always just use it with a standard mast. Not ideal as you give up some length but it would work. The other option is just mount it on the FD box but without the battery or motor. It will basically act as the spacer you’re seeking.
Most just have a dedicated board which is ideal. Used market is the way to go.
Thank you, that’s a really good point about using the FD box as a spacer. To be honest I’m not really looking to get a trench at this moment - I was more thinking it could be a useful design modification of future trench boards if not in existence yet.
Realizing you would need the plug for the motor connection, honestly not worth the hassle. Would go without the spacer and save up for a dedicated prone board. If you have a local foil community a used one should pop up that you can snag. If you have a second longer mast for wing foiling or pw that would also be an option.
