Will be a new Fone system?

Will be a new system in Fone?

As i would like to move from my phantasm system i consider Fone, and logiclly i wouldn’t like to buy it and 1 year after gets overdated.

Thanks!!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say yes. Pure speculation, but I think in 2027 they will announce a new connection system.

You can see it here, 2 M8 screws? https://youtube.com/shorts/pJTPakdls3Y?si=W1Bl9GS2A3RrzsHQ

Well shit… there goes my business idea of diving for lost F-One foils and selling them back to people after their M6 bolts shear off.
And after I invested in all that snorkeling gear…

Great to see it, thanks

The fuse looks thicker, type of Code

I heard 12.5mm for thickness. Going to be a crazy number of new thin masts hitting the market next year!

Do you know when will be in the market?

No clue about foils or release dates. Just heard about it a few weeks ago from an F-One rider who said m8 and 12.5mm thick. That clip above from early November is the first I’ve actually seen of it.

I love everyone crying about m6 hardware and simultaneously fawning over F4 with an absolutely identical system as F-One.

Which is it?! Svelte and efficient? Or mechanically unsound?!?!

Definitely user error. I’ve been down winding on the jam 1400. That things massive and it’s held up fine

I was talking to a local before a session about his F one & if he was worried about screws breaking when it was across social media earlier this year. He scoffed & told me it’s the first time he’d heard of it & his gear had been alright. He went out & lost his Jam that session.

Damn maybe I just jinxed it

From the vid it looks like they kept M6 for the board to mast connection. That would suck…

Do you really feel the system more rigid when is M8 vs M6?

I don’t think you feel any difference at all, at least not until the screws shear off and you lose the foil. A lot of it comes down to the connection design. Code uses M6 for the fuse-to-mast and I doubt they’ve had a single bolt shear. Gong also uses M6 on their new system and those bolts snap all the time on the bigger foils.

As long as it doesn’t sheer off you don’t feel any difference. But I often go on DW runs where I find myself 2-3miles from shore at the furthest point. Losing the mast at that point is a disaster. So you end up tightening the bolts extra tight and then ending up stripping the screws every week or so…

If the connection is the same, is this happening to people on F4 as well? Theres a lot of love for F4 on the forums, and hadnt seen anyone discussing connection issues. I’m honestly curious, not brand hating, as someone looking to switch brands in the future, this would make me lean Code vs F4 if this is a potential issue with their connections

I just asked the same about North foils if somebody has more info. Because North and Fone are the favourite options as in south Europe are easier to find compared to Code, for example.

Connections are not the same. They are similar.

Same style, not the exact same design.

Not the same construction.

I have not had one issue with any F4 foils and the 3 M6 screws.
I don’t sell many Fone. But have not had one either.
