A few days on the Evolution 135

Great honest review!

What technique do you use to “stay high” on the mast? The best guys I see can do this, but it seems to be more part of one’s natural style vs. a learned skill.

So I think the main thing people have an issue with is existing the wave to pump to the next. If you stay low on the mast you are then pushing up hill with the least amount of efficiency. So exiting a wave high allows you to glide out for longer and then maintaining that high pump until you find the next bump. I still to this day like to use positive tail shims. I think they help with the pump a lot.

How do you find the pumping and stall speed compared to the 140 and 125 that you had?
I was going to get a 125 for big days, but now considering the 115 IF i will still be able to pump that @ 90kg 200lbs

I have the 125, just ordered a 115evo from goodbreeze, I’ll put together a report after a few prone and wing sessions on it.

Prog125 is very good for 75kg prone surfing waist high plus but overpowered chest high for me

It’s a different pump. the 135 stall speed is similar to the 140 and the speed of the 125. As I said in the review it is a different overall feel. Progressions are more pivot and floaty where the evo is carve and glide

How well does the evo handle breaching? Personally find that is a weak spot of the progression foils as they have a significant hook at best when you breach a tip. Tried a new Armstrong HA and I was shocked at how easy it was to crank hard turns with the tips out. Definitely want that in my next foil.

handles breaches better then the progressions. You can push through the turns too which keeps your speed up. It’s seriously a much different foil

Same for me at 90kg the one time i tried the 125. At those speeds it’s all about pitch stability / control. Send a 115 review when you get it :+1:

I personally am the most excited about the 115.
