Amos Kruzer Reviews?

Hard to find many reviews on this board given how popular it is. I’m 68kg and looking at the 36L 5’4 (same volume as my 4’5 36L daily driver).

Trying to understand how much easier it will be to paddle / catch waves on a board the same volume + 11 inches longer.

Probability depends on your conditions. Long paddle and long period swell, night and day better with a modern foil. I love my 5’8" x 45l for my 200lbs. Shore break and short period waves, then not much difference imo. unless you live somewhere that waves stand up for a bit as the added length will allow you to get a high aspect foil moving paddling instead of waiting to get wacked in the rear from the white water.

My 5’4" Kruzer is in for repairs so I’ve had to go back my old 4’6" Frequent Flyer of same volume. My skill level is very average however proning i find i covert a much higher % of takeoffs on the Kruzer due to more forgiving foot positioning and “time”. Also using FD on same settings highlights just how easy the Kruzer gets up on plane and therefore the easier paddle when proning, (coming from one who doesn’t have pumping dialed). So for me yes the Kruzer catches smaller waves, paddles better, but the benefits go beyond that.

Mine’s 5’4" 33l and I love it next to my 32l 4’4" it paddles like 30% or more better, both boards are 18" wide. I get why we like small boards however I can surf my 5’4" just as hard as my 4’4", only difference is I’m way less tired from paddling and get more waves

5’4 is not 19 1/2" wide ?
