Appletree Slice V3 as a Prone Board?

Anyone riding an Appletree Slice V3 as a prone board? Pros and cons of using this over a dedicated prone shape like the Skipper prone? I have a Pro Foil V2 37L dedicated prone board, but I’ve been considering taking my V3 50L out on smaller days to get in early.

Ive tried it on my 60L v3 in very small surf. It “works”, but the volume makes it far from ideal. I think the sink on a lower volume board slows things down for the takeoff/pop-up, and the higher volume board is kind of skatey and hard to control during takeoff/pop-up. Maybe the 50L will work better - no reason not to give it a shot.

What do you weigh? For reference.

The biggest surfboard I can comfortable duckdive is about 48L, but I think I could be able to somewhat push down a 50L board in smaller surf. I’m 84kg.

Im 80 kg. Definitely can’t duck dive the 60L, nor have I tried to prone it in conditions where I needed to.

Thanks. I’ll take the winging straps off and take it for a spin soon and see how it feels.

the V2 also works great to catch the waves easier, and short enough to pump
