Been riding lift but wanting to get a more dedicated pump setup. Any thoughts on the best system/wings to look at for a guy around 90kg?
Do you want to pump around for as long as possible, with no concern for turning? Or do you want a foil that is easier to dock start but not too far from your wing/downwind/prone or whatever foil?
For long distance pumping at your weight, there aren’t too many options. SABfoil 1550 or 1750, or the giant Gong foils, which both work but are pretty flexible in in those sizes. Or you can break the bank with the Beta foil.
I recently switched to Axis from SABfoil for pumpfoiling (Leviathan 1350 to Fireball 1350). With a high mod mast and the new beefier fuselage, Axis is the stiffest system that I’ve experienced for a >1300mm span foil. They don’t offer anything with a span above 1400mm, so it won’t be a long distance machine for a big guy. But if that is ok, I think Axis is the best system.
The Armstrong 1350 is also very nice if you are emphasizing turning more than distance, but it isn’t as efficient or as stiff as the Axis setup. The biggest KT Atlas is another contender for a smaller dockstart-able but still fun to ride foil, but I haven’t had a chance to try it.
armstrong apf is my vote for flat lake pop up or dock start, either 1675 or 1880, I’m 90+kg rider

That’s the point.
I have a Leviathan 1550, ok you can stay up for a long time, but it is just boring.
And so, I prefer going with my Code 1075R because it is much more fun.
To me, it is also a much more “realistic” way of training because that is a foil a can use for SUP downwind.
You can go with Code 1250R, Axis Fireball, Sabfoil Leviathan 1360 which will be glide-oriented but still fun to turn. Or or AFS Enduro 1300 (or the new 1600 ?), KT Atlas 1360 which will be more on the turning side with less glide.
But you can be up and flying multiple minutes with one of theses foils.
And if you can to stay up for more than 15 minutes, I think references are Axis (Fireball), Ketos, Indiana. But still it will be hard at 90kg.
I’m only 75 kg but I would recommend Axis 1400v2 paired with One Ocean 78SS mast (Axis mast prices are insane).
Another decent option is the Sirus 156, but it’s a wing that only wants to go at one speed.
I’ve just gotten my Atlas 1340 recently and am really enjoying it for pumpfoil but the mast is a bit wobbly at my weight and it does require more energy to pump so it’s probably not great for 90 kg.
I’ve tested Code 1250R and it could be decent, but it does require speed to start and once you are going it wants to run at about 18-20 km/h which is usually too fast for wake thieving. Mast was a bit wobbly with the normal 75 mast.
I’ve tested the APF1880 on an A+ mast and didn’t like it much, but the guy who’s set up it is likes it. It’s a strange wing the way it lifts and it’s super slow. A+ mast seemed a bit wobbly as well.
North Pump 1800 is decent but a bit slow, not sure about mast options.
Roam 1700 is okay if you are looking for long distance. Not the best mast though.
I’m 95kg and not too interested in pump foiling, but if I was, I would jump on an AFS Enduro GLT 1600 with UHM 80cm mast. Stiffest, lightest, and I think it will be very efficient for pump foiling
