PumpFoil light weight beginner

Hi, which foil front wing (or whole setup) would you recommend for 54kg and 163cm?

I am a beginner even though I can dockstart (running) with an indiana p1100. Pumping after start is too heavy (3-5 pumps possible than I can’t push down). Any recommendations but would prefer an axis recommendation.

Have you tried shortening the fuselage? If you have, have you tried reducing stabilizer size?

Iʻm 76kg, but at my weight, the Code 1725s becomes a pain to pump if I donʻt have a short fuselage and smaller tail. Making both of these changes will dramatically loosen up your pitch control which is what you need to initiate and control your pump. Not familiar with Indiana, but you most likely donʻt need a new wing.

What’s your goal, distance, wakethieving, freestyle, downwind?

For Axis I would say Surge 890/950/1010 for everything but distance. For distance FB 1250/1350/1500.

For non-Axis I highly recommend the Takoon Pump Pro, I’m 75 kg and Pump the 1350/1750/1950. At your weight the 1350/1550 would be good. Works great for all disciplines, a great mix of turnability and efficiency.

You definitely do need a new front wing IMO. At your weight that P1100 will be terrible.

Thank you, at the moment my goal is to learn it  so I would just like to pump on the lakes (long distance?) I don’t know yet if I will fall in love with hunting ship waves :)) with my setup I feel safe and hope if I go smaller (to be able to pump) I still feel safe. So I thought about axis png 1200 or png 1300 but get nonsense answers from KI  is a surge/fireball also “easy” to start? I do the running start and probably later I’d try drop start (so far I just did a few and was scared)

PNG 1200 is really only a beginner wing, it’s fat and slow and I don’t really like the way it pumps (reminds me of the AFP 1675/1880).

1300v2 is a really nice wing for waves but I didn’t like it very much for flat water pumping. It could certainly work for you though.

I haven’t tried the Surge myself but all reports say they are very easy to start. They wont be much fun on flat water though, they are built to surf.

Fireballs require more speed and precision so they are a bit harder to start.

I had a similar experience learning to dockstart at 65kg on a unifoil hyper250. Adding some negative shim to the tail helped me from having the system over-lift. Not sure if Indiana have tail shims???

Now I’m using an Axis Spitfire 1180 as my dock setup. It’s great for pumping for a minute or so close to the dock, chasing wake and turns. It has good low speed lift and I can start it without a run. If you’re looking for marathon distance then there are better options.
