Been hearing about code dropping a new wing range, the K or Kanga. Haven’t seen any pictures or dimensions. Anyone have any info?
I was looking into this a little while ago. Not much info, but I did email Code to see if it was worth waiting for any new releases because I wanted a versatile pump foil wing that doesnʻt have a high stall speed but can also turn a bit. They told me Iʻm better off with a large S wing than any new offers. They said it was going to be focused on beginners.
I ended up getting a 1725S and overall Iʻm happy. I learned to dock start my 1300S just fine, but the 1725 has allowed me to start working on beach starts and dock starts with no stab. Itʻs been good fun. Curious to see if it was the right choice when the Kanga releases.
I’ve taken my 1725s to the local dock start meetups and watched great riders try it out. I can tell it’s a lot faster and more maneuverable than other dedicated dock start wings, I’m guessing the K will be super slow and floaty and stable like those? I might get a K because the S is pretty challenging for me at >100kg!
After learning on the 1300S, I thought the 1725 was easy to dock start. Iʻm only 73kg though.
Iʻve only got the standard 75 mast and havenʻt noticed any flex when Iʻm pumping around.
I even took the wing out in 2-3ʻ longer period surf (probably a bad idea) and it didnʻt blow up on me at all. Pumped slow, turned slow, and I felt all the underwater energy, but it kept up on the waves just fine and I was shocked I wasnʻt getting tossed into the air. Pretty versatile wing.
