First ride on Nolimitz V2 78cm - stiffness was startling

I’ve been riding an Axis high modulus power carbon 90cm mast since May. Hopped on the 78cm Nolimitz yesterday in rough conditions and was a little shocked. The first word that came to mind was “unforgiving”. I guess the Axis mast has a little give/play vs the Nolimitz. I’m pretty sure I will adapt pretty quickly. It just felt way more direct than what I’ve felt on anything else.

Just wondering if others experienced the same thing?

I suggested that a beginner buddy order the 85cm and I’m wondering if maybe it’s not a beginner friendly setup? Would he be happier on my 90cm? Which I would trade him for the 85…

Probably the shorter length - less distance from your feet to the wing. It’s one reason prone foilers use shorter masts than wingers. I think 80 CM is generally regarded as the best all around length both for prone and winging.
