Silk 650 and the 707
The new Carbon tails definitely pump better than what has been demo’d. Also do you know what Stab you were using? Sounds like one of the bigger stab from your description. The projection of the pump with a 125 stab and carbon tail is significantly better.

I’ve been riding the 4’6 Amp board and absolutely love it! Proning is by far my favorite foiling activity, so it is match in heaven.
I just got back from a trip to Mexico and was catching waves I never would’ve made on my high-volume mid-length board — especially during high tide when the waves were rolling in soft. I was a little concerned about using it in 87° water, but no issues at all with batteries overheating.
I think Flite Lab did a good job with the weight distribution — I don’t find it bothersome at all. I’ve never tried a Foil Drive setup, so I can’t really compare, but the balance on this board feels spot-on to me.
That said, I did run into a few hiccups early on (hoping just bad luck on my end):

The deck started peeling off on 1 side of the board after my first session.

Around the fourth session, one of the battery indicators disappeared (there’s 2 of them) and I started getting a recurring “cell error” message on the launchpad. Thankfully, customer service was great and replaced one the batteries quickly.

The GPS function is glitchy (I’m in Southern California) and it doesn’t always get a signal — but hopefully the next update will fix that.

The bottom of the board is turning white, even though I always keep it shaded while setting up. (Chris - do you know if it’s normal?)
Despite those issues, the Amp board is game-changer. I’ve been frothing on it since day one. I can’t wait to test it in bigger conditions (adding mid-length 5’0 to the quiver soon)

Stoked you are enjoying it. Please take photos of the deck grip and send to support. It shouldn’t do that. My personal boards that are 18months old have no deck grip lifting nor have any of our demo boards which get a hammering but I have seen another customers deck grip lift. As for the white I have never seen that on any of our boards. Please once again send photos to support. I would like to work out what is going on here.
At 85kg is the flitelab raw 4’0 your go to when using the tow boggie? I’m the same kg loving the raw 4’4 sink starting and looking to move down to the raw 4’0. Appreciate it! -Rich

I was considering both the 4’4 and 4’2 for boogie specific use (I dont own any flitelab gear just yet), but was able to try the 4’0 raw with tow boogie a few weeks ago and happy to report that it was super super easy to get up. One could even go 3’10 (although they aren’t released yet). I was pleasantly surprised and have since placed and order for the 4’0. The raw boards are insanely light, just over 2kg i think. Planing shape works really well, and the release from the water is probably where the magic lies.
anyway - 4’0 will be great!

With the 4” Raw you have no problem doing sinker starts? And in rougher conditions when there is heaps of water movement can you still get up on this via a sinker start. And what’s the smallest foil you do that with?
I was thinking the 4’4 at my 86KG for the tow boogie but you now having me thinking about the 4.0”

i only did a couple of starts on it with a passing tow booger - water wasn’t rough but also not dead flat. I was shocked at how easy it was, on a 707.
Foil size is pretty much immaterial fwiw - mostly about the board planing shape (getting the board up to speed on the surface) . 4’0 gave me zero concerns at 85kg

You think flitelab is releasing a smaller 3’10 raw board? I have their 707/82 mast/140 tail/short fuse and it blows away anything I have been on from Armstrong to code / axis.

i tried some of the Flitelab road-show setup (foil camp in bali) - there was a 3’10 proto we were using for tow. No idea if it’s planned for production or not, but assume along the road comes the 606 etc and potentiall, smaller boards.
It was implied that one (AB) could get up on the tow boogie with the 3’10 (and smaller protos) which i would totally believe.

Thanks mate. I agree re on the board planning shape and the raw boards have the perfect shape for this. Have been on similar boards and anything sub 30L that is shorter than 4’4 seemed to get harder (board shape dependant) when you’re in rougher conditions with heaps of movement…which makes sense and length helps with this. Some boards no matter the volume are just harder due to less planning surface but raw boards look fairly flat so you can get away with a smaller board. 4” would be epic and at my 85KG was really only looking at the 4’4 on boogie. 4’2 could be the sweet spot though for rougher / funky conditions. Be good to test the 4’0 though in a range of conditions as once up would be so nice.

@sof We are working on a feature for the Boogie that will help getting up when it’s a bit choppy by dynamically steering the motor based on speed and load to counter the prop torque. Will help with smaller boards. Should have a beta version to test in a few weeks time.

Got the 4’0 Flitelab raw board in at 27L and loved it behind the tow boggie today. If you have a good sink start to drop knee technique it’s easy. Flat water windy conditions. I have the 4’4 32L version as well for pure prone and didn’t think the 4’0 was any harder to start using the tow boggie! For sure easier to sink and balance, I am 85kg. And not sure why but using the Flitelab foil setup also was easier to get up versus Armstrong HA680/180&140 and MA890/200 tail. Easy to sink the boards and smoother take offs on Flitelab (82 mast/short fuse/707/140&160 tails). I think the Armstrong foil kit has more buoyancy is a less dense build than the Flitelab kit for what it’s worth, really noticeable side by side same session sink starting the 32L Flitelab raw board for what it is worth swapping between Armstrong and Flitlab foil kits. Pump wise using the 4’0 was incredible only thing that stopped me was just fitness:) Cheers!!
Just spent time on the Flitelab Raw board paired with the Flux 707 foil set, and wow-this combo is excellent for tow foiling and tow boogie sessions. I was chasing a foil that turns really well AND still has pump and glide. In the past, I always seemed to get one or the other.
This setup nailed it. What I Loved:
Ultra-Stiff Board: The Raw transfers power instantly-perfect for carves and pumping.
Compact & Balanced: Easy to control at speed, yet stable for deep-water starts (even at 94?kg).
Flux 707 Performance: Smooth, predictable, and FAST. Turns at high speed with no locked-in feel.
Glide & Lift: Maintains lift through flat sections and feels like surfing on rails.
Confidence for Heavy Riders: Handles load beautifully-ideal for pushing hard into turns.
Pumping: I could link waves, which is a rarity for me!
Things to Consider: Not Beginner-Friendly: This is a performance setup-best for experienced riders.
Board Size Matters: At my weight, the 4’4" board was perfect. The 4’2" I demoed was fine behind a ski but challenging behind the boogie.
Premium Price: High-end gear comes at a cost, but the performance is worth it.
Final Thoughts: After the demo, I had to buy it-it did exactly what I wanted. I’ve even tried the foil on my old board, and while it felt good, it missed that zip the featherweight, super-stiff Raw board gives when riding swell and pumping. If you’re serious about tow foiling and want speed, flow, and turning freedom without sacrificing glide, this combo is hard to beat. Definitely worth a demo.

Similar foils I’ve ridden: GoFoil RS650 & RS825, Code 615 & 720, AFS Silk 650 & Enduro 700, Armstrong MA590 Mk2.
Wanted to chime in that I’ve finally bought flite.lab setup & bought:
- 4’2" amp
- 707 with short fuse & 125 tail
To say I’m happy would be an understatement. It’s been everything and more I’d hoped & experienced.
Here’s what I can add to what is posted here…
I ride with the jet and and the jet out. The five main reasons I ride with jet in are:
- It’s big and i want to get in early
- It’s small, weak & there’s not much time to catch a wave
- It’s crowded and with the amp I can sit wider and safer
- When it’s windy off or cross shore
- Tide is too high
I ride without the jet on an average surf day just like I would have before buying the amp.
So a bit more on each of the reasons I ride with the jet in.
- When it is big the amp gives so much more time and easier entry into bigger waves. By bigger I mean head to head and a half height faces. The amp gives an ability in these situations to make take offs possible that arms alone cold not.
- We have a few waves that when small only give a few seconds to get up and riding. Once up the waves are foilable. The challenge in these conditions is to get going. The amp makes getting up and going when it’s small so much easier
- Summer oh summer… That time of year when a lot of people who own surfboards take them out to rinse the year or years worth of dust off. We have some point breaks that people with less ocean experience make challenging for people on any crafts because of where they sit, paddle, freak out when sets come. I don’t like foiling among these crowds. The amp has been a crowd cheat as I can sit wide or everyone and get the waves. Once up and foiling am away from the crowds (as all foilers would be, I just don’t have to dodge the crowd on the way to getting wide)
- When it’s windy. This was a benefit I didn’t expect. I was foiling, there was a 4ft swell that when it refracts is 2-3ft on take off, then 2ft to the beach. I was riding without the jet & it was strong cross shore. Riding with the wind on my side was fine, ,as soon as I’d do a cut back the wind gets under the board slows everything down. This happens on any board & makes a 400-700m ride a glide fest, which while fun i’d rather be turning. So I went in and put the jet in, came back out & the weight made the session. Turning in to the wind the weight counters the effect of the wind lifting the board. This meant I could ride the board at a better angle and go faster, therefore surf the waves with the cross shore rather than having a glide fest. So now if it’s windy I put the jet in even if I don’t need it to catch the waves because it’s a better ride
- Tides: We have a bunch of tide dependent waves. We can only really ride them on the low to mid tide, about half the tide cycle. With the amp I’m now able to ride 3/4 of a tide cycle. Another chance to ride with less/no people & beat the crowds.
What else to say apart from how amazing the foil and board is… Feel like i’ve got something from Batman’s cave
the finish on everything is top notch. In more useful news I can double down the 707 with the amp in and I’m no cardio or pump hound.

FYI: I weigh 78kg & am 183cm (writing as some people ask about this)
I have also ridden the Raw boards; 4”6”, 5"‘0” & 5’8” amp board, plus the 808 & 1010 foils.
Edges of what is possible that I have tested:
I winged the 5’8” with 1010 foil in marginal wind. The boost gave me all the speed I needed to get on foil. Was one of those days where there’s not really enough wind to keep on foil.
That was super easy so I tried to do the same on the 5’0” with the 707 foil & a 3.6m wing in pretty light wind. Spent most of the session laughing that I was able to get up on a small foil, with a small wing in such light winds.
I did a short downwinder on the 4’2” with 707 it chunky, junky swell & wind chop coming from the south east (most of our swell comes from the south west & when it’s south east everything gets very messed up. THat makes predicting bumps harder however it makes them steeper.) I was able to get foiling multiple times as i’d fall/mess up once downwinding. Was super surprised it was possible.
