Hoping to give some travel inspiration and hype around a very unknown gem. I stumbled across kingfisher resort in northern Luzon island Philippines. A very quiet and somewhat rustic gem. The kitesurfing team also foil and are keen to get more people there.
Location: Pagapud - Philippines Google Maps
Accom type : resort style bungalow from basic to deluxe-hot water etc.
Food- bar and kitchen with great cheap local food and drinks.
Foiling- wave winging is the most common but with easy highway access down winding is doable, boat access for towing and a variety of reef breaks for proning. The water is immediately out front of the resort with a great wave and super consistent cross shore wind.
There is also a large lagoon nearby which is great for flat water when the wind is cranking or your want to learn.
Best season: October to march but February is best with consistent 20knots and warm water.
fly Manila to Laoag and tax/driver to resort (kingfisher can arrange)
Price range is about $50aud per day including domestic flights.
Definitely byo boards and foils etc, limited equipment.
Fair warning this place is pretty isolated, don’t expect partying or heaps of tourists, the only other tourist we saw were in the resort.
