I have noticed various amounts of foot offset from centerline. For myself I actually seem to have a reverse offset that I don’t generally see in others. This occurs for both disciples I practice: SUP DW and Dockstarting.
Wondering if anyone has thoughts on what the trade-offs are for foot position offset and specifically if I’m doing something that’s inadvisable? I seem not to notice downsides in my riding at least.
Nice timing, as I have been revisiting this lately…I had been drifting toward more offset, but that has messed up my heel-side to toe-side jibes winging, as my back foot has most of the turning leverage, but using that leverage with more backfoot pressure leads to more breaches for me.
So while the extra leverage for rolling in turns is tempting, the cost in terms of pitch has to be managed - and I can’t do that well, so I’m moving back toward the centerline…(but would love some coaching on this)
