Gear Advice - Beginner Prone boarding set up

Hello all,

Been looking for a beginner prone foiling set up and got offered the below kit on FB:

  • 4’6 37L Konrad Carbon Flyer
  • SS1300 low aspect surf wing
  • ST1100 medium/high aspect surf wing (few scuffs)
  • SS330 stabiliser wing (few scuffs)
  • SS290 stabiliser wing (brand new)
  • 75cm Carbon Mast and Fuselage kit
  • Storage/Carry bags.
  • All titanium nuts and bolts = No corrosion.

I haven’t seen too much on Konrad and just want to make sure they are solid / will get me to where I want to go!

I mainly want to prone and get some dock start practice in. The seller is asking $1350 for the whole set up and from an inexperienced guy, it sounds like a great deal.

Thanks for the advice in advance!

Konrad is fine. It’s not a good setup for dock starting though. Seems too small for dockstarting to me. Would be fine for prone.

Not a terrible deal. Not a smoking deal either though.

Thank you again for the input my friend! Trying to get out there ASAP, but also want to make sure I am buying something that will work how I want lol

Don’t worry about having multiple front and rear foil options. Just get the one foil for the thing you want to do. The more time you spend on 1 foil, the more advancement you will make. Ask around the local beaches for a Unifoil progression 170 setup. Being able to put your hands on the gear before buying is a huge plus when you don’t know what you’re doing yet.

You could try the guys at @foilshop. They can probably put together a good deal for you on a progression setup that won’t be much more than that used price. @foilwithme on instagram.
