Getting into wing and prone foiling help

Hey, looking to get involved in the sport and do a little of everything. Dockstart, wing and prone. Live in Rhode Island where there isn’t the greatest wind and waves. Have been looking around and found this deal. Looking to know if it is a fair price and if it suits me.

Sabfoil complete set comes with:
Leviathan 1350
73cm mast
Razor 980
370 tail
Corresponding fuses
Slingshot 12.6L board

Asking price is $1300
I know I need to get a prone board. However was wondering if this is the all around setup that could suit me or if there are better options. Fully new to the sport and could take any input. Ideally was hoping to get involved for under $1250 but already passing that and needing a new board aswell.

Sounds pretty good for dock starting, but is there a brand you’re already drawn too?

Getting into a brand/system that you want will end up saving you a lot in the long run (both money and desire), even if you have to piecemeal a kit together.

I’m pretty sure whatever brand you tell “us” you’re interested you’ll have a couple DMs pretty quick with deals to get you going quick.

If your focus in foiling is going to be dock start, that’s a great starting package, and with the right board you can use them both winging, though both are on the slow end for winging.

Maybe the 980 has a place in a prone set-up, the 1350 doesn’t.

As others have said the setup is very tailored for dock start and wake, but the board isn’t really going to work for prone or wing. The foil setup is fine, but the board is much too low volume to do anything but tow, wake or dock start. If you want a board to do it all you need more volume. Ideally if you are just starting, you will probably need two boards to do all three of those disciplines.

In my opinion I’d start with a single foil and two boards rather than two foils and a single board.
