Just pick a long narrow board, 5’5 by 19 for example, literage matching weight -10L, or even more extreme if need be, 6’+ and more liters. Wing can be 5m and foil can be 600 with that board
How are you finding the p800 mast now for prone? I’m tossing up between this and a 750 katana. I was on the original which I found alright and am wondering if I won’t like the extra length prone for the usual waves we ride from a pumping perspective
It’s a great compromise for wing and prone for me. I think if I was on the 140 still the 75 would be a better fit for prone but I’ve moved to the 170 and with all that span I’m grateful for the extra length. Build and stiffness are great.
Thanks for replying. Why 750 on the 140? I’m looking exclusively prone and ride both 170 and 140. I’ve got the 95 mast for wing :). I like the idea of 80 for downwind but yeah I do like the feeling of being closer to the surface for pumping on the 750. So torn as which one to buy
The span is more compact on the 140 and I feel like it doesn’t need the additional mast length to keep the foil in the water. Smaller is better for me for more aggressive surfing. Also I think for my energy in South Carolina the shorter masts keeps the foil closer to the shallow wave energy on takeoff making for better low end in small conditions. I ended up keeping the 800 mast and switching to the 170 but I feel like I could have also gotten some low end out of the 140 by switching to the shorter mast.
