Looking for Low Volume Board for Foil Drive

Looking for ~30L board to foil drive with my assist max. Proficient with 57L board (80ish kg) and looking for something smaller. Located in Tampa. Looking for recs and potentially purchasing if local.

I’ve been on a 45L Quiverkiller. Recently sized down to a 30L FTW. The difference between the two in getting up onto plane and then on foil is substantial.

I’m not sure if it’s the longer waterline or the 50% more volume but at almost 200lbs I can flat water the QK and I’m nowhere close with the FTW riding the same 135 Evo.

Coming from such a big board I might consider a more intermediate step, especially if your use case involves flat water.

I know people have been having success with small boards especially with a trench (and I’m still learning the technique for small board for FD) but worth a consideration

What are you looking to do with it/what size and type of foil are you riding?

Looking to ride my 1080 HA foil on the really small 1-2 ft bumps. A lot of that being flat water starts.

i’m on a 29 L Zapple S. Could be the best board on the market hit me up privately we can discuss further if you’d like, I’m 165 pounds.

Hi Foilgarage,

Are you still on your 29L Zapple S? I have the 5ft 37 liter Zapple and am looking for the next step for Trench/Foilddrive/ lower liters. I am 140 lbs. Is the 29L Zapple S still my best option in your opinion?

I got a 29 liter Kruzer. Barely used.

sorry for the late reply just seeing this now. Yes I am absolutely loving it. lightweight, super responsive under foot and battery swaps are quick with the appropriate barrel bolts. feel free to hit me up privately if you’re interested in getting a board and or asking any questions at all, I’m happy to assist. I can also provide you photos, etc..
