I understand that this setup caters to a elite group of riders who want every ounce of performance and don’t mind spending the money, but lord jesus christ biblical son of Mary the virgin, that’s expensive! It’s kind of like an F-16 compared to my Cessna of a foil.
Let’s hope they take those improvements and bring them into more mid-range gear, both in terms of performance and price. I’ll stick with my Nomad/Atlas for now.
I’m still curious to see how they ride, though. YEWW
waiting for my SOLUS-APEX-PULSE combo so badly ![]()
That looks exciting - and expensive yes! Hope it’s worth it ![]()
That’s the price of foiling now. Brands that are not direct to consumer are that expensive.
The jump in price per front wing size is very steep, much steeper than most brands or other KT products. I get that UHM carbon is expensive, maybe other brands are just ripping us off for smaller sizes?
There’s a lot of data analysis and presentation crime here
but skipping over that the tempo sizes are much closer together. If you remove that then the price increases are more alike
It shook the same with the 980 nomad and 155. The best way I can explain it is,
When pulling off the back of a wave or leaning into a turn, I will load the foil, and when I unload to pump it will spring back and it feels like my wingtip hit a fish or something. It’s not gradual, it’s like someone tripped you while running

I put my board down on the sand after a prone session with the 980 63 and 155. That’s when I noticed the shake. It actually almost seemed worse with the 980. I had changed my foil for a downwind before I “tested” it in my garage.
I can’t understand those number at all. What do we compare it to? You should explain it.
The Fireballs are also UHM and they are very comparible in size to the Solus
The increase in area is indicative of how much more UHM carbon they need so compare that to the increase in price.
Size increase is between 12-20%
Price increase is usually between 2-6%, Solus increase is 15% per size.
i have no idea of the layup of these foils only the manafacture would, but take into consideration for both foils and masts that there is many flavours of UHM all costing different amounts. You also cant layup either a mast or foil with just purely UHM as it would be too brittle. As there is many layers you could easily make a mast or foil with only a few layers of UHM and call the product UHM.
Any mast doesn’t vibrate like this. Buddies on Code, Unifoil, Cedrus with code. None of them shake like this. I switched to KT from f-one. F-one mast wobbled less even with my jam 1400 on a downwinder. The KT wings are definitely functional masterpieces. Yea the mast works, but to put out a “high end” mast like this at this point in foil evolution is a joke.
Everyone also loved to trash the f-one connection system from mast to fuse, KT is basically the exact same thing except it uses M8 bolts
If you do everything right on the KT it works fine, but if you’re not a pro and lose your balance or pump is off, it’s a very unstable system
You can’t compare, it’s not only M8 over M6, it’s how the inserts are in the mast, depth and construction. Some other brands have problems with M8 and other things, KT has not. It’s allover a real performant system you own, coming later to market to avoid mistakes others made.
How do you have one? Was it given to you or you pay for it? Are you a sponsored rider or rep for KT?
Not mine. But that’s a retail version. Non sponsored rider. Just a regular guy. They’re showing up in the wild.
