New KT foils - who has some info

Any deets on this “halo” foil 800 sq cm?

Could try it this week, Halo 800 / Atom 161 plus Apex 85. This is a dream combination for waves and freestyle in pretty low wind. With a bit of pumping it’s not much later on foil then the nomads, but way more reactive and playful - love it! Btw. the Apex mast is a new benchmark for me,

stiff, no resistance and turns with no efforts.

How do you think the Halo would work for parawinging? How’s the glide compared to the Nomad?

Anyone know what sizes they will come in?

Yes, glide is good, stallspeed better with nomad. Halo has a better top end, nomad better low-end. Or take Halo one size bigger for same low-end

550/670/800/950. Only tested 800, super all-round size

That video is amazing. Whats the timing for the release date? I see one place online that shows them with “sold out” status or no availability?

670 with 121 tail here in this clip. The bumps were super super small yet for a short while this combo was enough to keep going. If your conditions are better it would definitely work.

Info is up on KT site now as well, still lots of TBD in the speed specs though.
Also have one site with USD prices, looks consistent in high jump per size with the previously leaked AUS pricing making the small sizes similar prices to other industry sizes but the big sizes expensive.
Solus 565 $981 vs. Axis FB 880 (600 sqcm) $951
Solus 1110 $1558 vs. Axis FB 1250 (1133 sqcm) $1121

Does any dealer have some info on the Solus sizing compared to Nomad or Atlas foils?
I mean someone who tried the foil in Tarifa during the dealer’s meeting?

I use Nomad 1160 for PW and consider a Solus but need the the same (or better) lowend to get on foil

Tx

Difficult to say without riding them back to back on a same day. Solus is quite a different animal, for example on this day after the meeting nobody even bothered to come to the water because the wind was too light. Despite it being a super popular and crowded beach. The biggest Solus worked no problem, and 930 would have easily worked as well.

I don’t think you will have a better low end from any Solus.

I tested the 775, and to me it has the low end of a 600 from others brand.

And the nomad has a lot of low end. I’d say the 830 has the low end of most 1000 from others brand.

Maybe the 1110 or 930 are much more powerful than the 775, but it seems that you need to get 1 or 2 size up using the Solus.

so whats the deal with the new apex mast, is it really the best mast in the industry right now? and why is it technically speaking?

It is by far the best mast I ever had (AFS UHM, AFS Skinny, One SS and SSS, Axis Pro, Code…)

I have the 77. Approx 13mm thick, 9cm chord. And very stiff, I just have tested it today with the 1340 Atlas for pumping and had no issues.

It frees the Nomad and Atlas, in carving, glide and speed.

with the f-4 they say you cant be heavy 95kg and use the skinny with the 1250, how come it is fine with the kt?

I just did flat water pumping with the 1340, so low speed and no underwater movement.

I don’t plan to use it with anything bigger than the 930 Solus for downwind.

It is much stiffer than the One 78SSS, which was impossible for me to use with the 1340.

Contemplating buying a KT quiver that is on offer secondhand here, seems a very complete kit (full range of Atlas and Nomad v1, only Nomad 700 sold). I am currently on an 85cm classic Cedrus with Cab H850/H1000/Kujira 1210/Kujira 1440, but I want to learn to supfoil and at our spot my mates recommend a shorter mast to clear the sandbars. My main pursuit is wingsurfing, which I am starting to do in the surf at sea, but I also want to learn supfoil and dockstart and in the long term I might want to downwind.

I am very light (±65kg) so the Atlas 1340 seems good for dockstart, then for winging I thought to add the 960 and 680. Tails Atlas 145 + 170 + Nomad 190? Mast is carbon 77cm + fuselage 63cm.

Any recommendations? Is the KT mast stiff enough for light weight dockstarters?

Of course. Absolutely no problem. 77 cm mast, short fuse, Atlas 1340 and 145, 72 kg.

Yeah I would also love a comparison of og cedrus + kt v1

currently riding cedrus with kt and would love to drop down in mast thickness to 15.5, but worried about drop in stiffness
