New KT foils - who has some info

Anybody know if KT are planning to release an UHM mast and/or Carbon fuse?.

I am very interested in the Atlas but if i splurge into a new system with 2 wings and 2 masts i would rather go for an all carbon and best mast possible.

BTW i do not find the KT system “middle priced” at all.
A Code setup ( carbon fuse) comes out 100eur cheaper.
An AFS (UHM 14mm mast, carbon fuse) is 400eur more expensive.

It’s not any more inexpensive -
Perhaps the cost reduction will be seen when upgrading to more front wings and stabs - which are a bit more accesible in price than 800+ front wings from the mentioned brands.
But yes! I can only guess when they release a full carbon fuse if they do - it’ll be u$400+ and an uhm prob u$1400-1500 and be just the rest of the market of this premium brands - but if the wings and system fits and works so well as reviewed and hyped - then it’ll be just fine - cause that’s what the market is ready to pay, right?

I don’t get the “wait for carbon” bit. Aluminum is the better fuse material. Stiffer. I’ve done back to back comparison with the carbon fuse and the AL on my north gear and it’s not even close the carbon is trash. Only possible upgrade would be omen style stainless front fuse and carbon rear(where flex isn’t a problem) or maybe a 2 piece titanium front and carbon rear

I’ve always been on carbon - no issues for me, but I recognize I’m a lightweigth rider and that affects, also I don’t jump -

I’ll be getting some KT stuff in may - if alu gives me the stiffness and it’s thin enough so it can keep the glide, then that it’s fine for me  - always good to save some bucks at no performance expense -

A well made piece of high modulus carbon, with the same dimensions as aluminum will be stiffer and lighter. One of those things must not be true about that fuselage.

One big plus with aluminum is you can pretty easily get 5000 parts made with very little variation in performance. There are no Monday morning parts on the CNC machine.

I have been using the kt system for 2 month in rather powerful waves, prone/wing/foil assist, about 80kg. Using the carbon mast 85cm, mostly long fuse, nomad 700/830 and atlas 680.
No complaints about the fuse although it corrodes a bit and tefgel is not fun. If anything it would be the mast that could be 1. stiffer and 2. thinner. Afs uhm replica would be ideal. I start to feel some wobbles sometimes on the 85cm wingspans so one can only imagine the bigger ones.
The high camber design is a game changer for user friendliness on the low end (really hard to stall), pumping (any style works), top end (self generated drag keeps the wing nimble). So much so that you can use smaller size foil, ride much trickier conditions and get away with it, overall less falls, less struggle.
The atlas could have been made surfier compared to an enduro for example, it’s a design choice there. The nomad I don’t see anything to improve, maybe a smaller size than 700. Waiting to get the atlas 570, supposedly faster, exciting.
Overall A++. Afs is also really really good, if they come up with a silk v2 that mounts on the new fuse system we are in business (wet dream is a silk with high camber design).

First time in some (super) small waves with a KT foil. Atlas 680, short fuse, 145 Atlas tail. Felt at home right away.

These foils are absolutely incredible. For light wind AND bigger riders especially, there is finally a foil which an help in both these crucial areas, the rest is easy. I have every Nomad at the moment and a few Atlas wings, could not be more happy.

to bad no one has them in stock

I have a 680 full plane available if anyone’s looking

I’m 215 lbs, on the Atlas 790,960 for prone and wing. Just got a parawing. Heard great things about the Nomad and am curious your opinion in general and sizing- how much range the 830 would cover for bigger dudes for all of the above disciplines… maybe even DW parawing. where my goal is to surf
.

Did a cracking downwinder a few days ago on the 790/145 Atlas. Once again, super impressed with the Atlas — very fast and stable at high speeds. Loving it!

Getting more and more dialed in with the Atlas. Quite surprised how well it behaves in our chop (what we have here instead of some real waves) and in the air bubbles after an already broken wave. 680/145 here.

Have ridden the 680, 790, 960, 1130 atlas
for our generally light conditions and runs where we have to cut a lot I’m really liking the 790+145 for decent days 15mph+ and the 960 for anything bellow that. For my weight at 175lbs I don’t find the 1130 to be working that well I have honed in on the 1160 nomad for potential step up from 960 atlas for light days. Will report back on that soon. I will say the more you ride these foils the better they get and the speed range is really massive.

Nomad 1160 / 63 / 170 atlas tail 77mast
Pretty much no wind (2-5mph) but some residual bumps from nearby wind. I felt I was a little slow in comparison with the speed of the bumps. Next day I tried it with 145 atlas tail but I think it was too small. Want to try with 155 nomad tail or potentially one size bigger.
Overall I’m impressed with the glide and float of this foil in comparison with similar size atlas. As well as being playful and fun to turn.
