Nolimitz quality issues

Hi Guys

I have the V2 from Nolimitz. I havent had a great run with the mast even though there were assurances that all quality issues had been resolved.

For context I have had the mast approx 2 years but only ridden with it about 20 times if that. The mast is set for Axis and was used with the 960 spitfire. All my other foils and gear is from LIFT and i get in the water about twice a week.

Pictures speak for the mast . Contact from Nolimitz has not been great and they have said its out of warranty - which I agree from a time perspective. But quality perspective is where we differ.

Not sure if they are still selling these new, but be aware that it appears manufacture quality issues have not been resolved which for me started with a slight reaction at the fuselage connection. A real shame as I went with them due to mast sizing / length 780 and using there windsurf masts 15 odd years which have been fantastic.

Ouch. Sorry that happened to you and you’re stuck with that. They are out of business now.

Thanks mate - that explains everything

A buddy of mine just had a no limitz mast failure a week ago and lost his gear to the sea. No limitz did honor the warranty and kicked up the cash for the lost gear as well.

You may want to reach out to them.

relying on a glue bond to aluminum basically never works. Seems like they figured that out the hard way. It CAN work, but typically only if there are backup fasteners which can ensure the joint doesn’t get loaded with peal loads.

Thats great to hear.

I have made contact, provided date of purchase and for them its out of warranty and not interested

Cheers

I think NL main error is insisting on the same interface for all their adapters. The Old Takuma connection was smaller than the carbon NL mast so they kind of had to have an aluminum socket in that carbon mast to neck it down to the right size. For other connections thought they could have used an aluminum socket atound the carbon mast which holds up dramatically better. If you can get aluminum inside AND outside of that mast it’s fantastic. The current one I’m using I cut off the Takuma stub but left the aluminum inside the mast, drilled and tapped that end for a Cedrus strong mount baseplate which I also potted with epoxy(I blew up some NL plates so had to innovate) and used the cut off bare carbon (formerly the plate side) to pot into my north setup. Bomber!
