North Dock Starter - What's your experience?

Hi, North Dock Starter - What’s your experience?

thx

Ridiculously overpriced. Can make one out of a boogie board and a few pieces of pvc.

Overpriced, sticky board exits, the angle that it holds the board is wrong, and one more thing to pump up. There was a guy at the dock yesterday with one and we were discussing it’s drawbacks. I’d stick with my pvc launcher over the inflatable all day ($100 in materials) - but I have a van so transport is not an issue.

Takoon makes a cheaper clone.

You just gotta put the time in, I think it took me >200 tries to actually get that first good glide to then pump out of, then learning to pump took another who knows ~100 tries to finally feel like I knew what was going on. Put the time in and you’ll get the dockstart without the thingy. It helped to have someone spotting me because I was fearful I would hit my head on the dock someway somehow. Find that ideal dock with no pylons or anything underneath so you can get good speed at the start. You got this!

I tried it few times , was impossible for me .
As for the price , i don’t think is overpriced etc… if product is good , people will want to pay it . But this is not the situation now….
You must set up everything in the perfect angle and find very specific dock that fit.
The tail wing is touching the dock and got damaged, and it’s very hard to fix it and stay stable.
Found it easier to do static start from the same dock .

You can say that for just about everyting they make!

Got one to replace my homemade PVC one because i travel and it packs down smaller and lighter. Actually i prefer the PVC one as it supports the board in the exact right position better, but with a little experience and adjustments the inflatable works just fine.
Not for everyone, but for the totally foilbrained a quick session can provide a challenging workout (I’m just starting to break one minute) with just you, your foil, and a tiny board.
