Opinions: Lift 150 HA X

I’d love some advice on 170ha vs 150hax for an intermediate (beginner side of intermediate) wing foiler. I’m going to buy one or the other. Just graduating from big low aspect stuff. The consensus seems to be that the 150 is better in virtually way. But I wonder if the lower aspect of the 170 would provide lower stall speed and generally better low end, which might be a good fit for where I’m at. But I’m hesitant to buy the “older” 170 design when everyone universally raves about the 150. Thinking about the Flow 31 tail with either of the front wings. I’m winging in 15-25 knots, choppy and weigh 172lb.

Iv ridden both and would suggest the 150 over the 170 every time. It’s better to me in every way.

I’m guessing I’m about at your level…the 150x is a fun foil, but it does need speed and for me, time on foil is really what its all about, so I need all the help I can get getting up and staying up…I just sold my 150x (as I was only using it with a foildrive)…and have been on the 180x lately, and it is also super fun and quick and turns well, and I haven’t felt limited by it in any way yet.

While the 180x does have less low end that I’d like, it is better than the 150x on that front (my Sab Leviathan 1150 has low end in spades, but doesn’t turn well…I’m making way more jibes cleanly on the 180x). So the 180x is easier for me to get up and stay up than the 150x, so I’m sticking with it…should get easier to get up as my skills improve…

I’m also only 142lbs and on a 89L Appleskipper DW, winging on a fairly crappy inland reservoir, using the 31 flow
