Room 101 suggestions

If you want to experience a nanny state come to Kansas - a wing board is supposed to be registered with the DMV and display registration like a boat. They also won’t sell you registration without some manufacturing number no board manufacturer has any reason to supply.

It’s less paperwork to shoot a wing board than to ride one.

-They have been like a family to me and given me sooo much. I will forever be grateful to_________, but all good things come to an end and its time for the next chapter in my stupid instagram life that nobody cares about, and I have no actual marketable skills outside of foiling. So wish me well! And my parents are cutting me off next week.

I know this isnʻt the post to be positive in, but thank F for foiling. I swore I was the only guy in my 40s on the planet that dgaf about watching sports, but is always down to play them. I finally have a sport that people are more interested in DOING than growing fat on a couch watching. All I need to put a grin on my face everyday is some time riding my hobby horse on the water.

Writing this I did wonder what the average number of days between a leaving X sponsor and a joining Y post. My bet would be on always leaving at least a weekend between

Wingers moving their foil forward in low wind and back in high,

When i try to explain about inertia, center of buoyancy ,lift or angleof attack i can hear the “click” as their brain tunes me out.

Saying angle of attack when referring to angle of incidence

Saying angle of attack when referring to angle of incidence

Damn, guilty as charged. I had to look up the difference between the two terms.

And orange drone reviews- they’re still coming out

Designers claiming everyone is copying them. Just design your product and then design the next one. If it’s a good product, other people will also make good products. Same as comedian’s claiming someone stole their joke.

LOL, man this thread keeps delivering. Gav just hit a double bingo with this AB review which includes a reference to his Orange drone review right at the start :joy:

Calling foils “wings”, particularly during a conversation concerning wing foiling. It’s a Hydrofoil - foil is abbreviated- the wing is still on the airplane. They’ve been hydrofoiling since 1900.

Yes.

But on that note, definitely downwind winging → 101 so it’s probably more a transitional thing until we start calling parawings “wings” which feels likely to save energy.

Edit qualified that a bit, wingers do your thing hah

Not the first here, but I propose we call it para"wanking" instead.
“I have no friends to shuttle me upwind today, guess I’ll have a wank instead.”

Alternatively we go with wind-winging and para-wanging

(I hated “wind wing” which thankfully has gone the way of the wing)

No bait for the wing jokes? Anyone frothed on the the new Duotone D-unit hard or soft handles? I was surprised how many views the wings get on the North yt channel

FWIW I think this forum is not a very representative sample of the market. When-ever I pass the beginner spot back home I’m always amazed how many people are rigging up to mow the lawn. Theres a lot of people who still wing… North a big brand drops a new wing - those are the people who would be interested I assume.

On a side note, I don’t have a big channel but posting my own videos here and there - it seems people are hungry for info, not pretty visuals. An uncut hour long video talking to a camera on a downwinder that took 20 min to edit gets ~10K views with 850 hours of watch-time, but the 2 min sheddit you spend 5x as long putting together flops.
