The Foil Singularity: Foil All the Time

Pretty cool moment: walked into the local bodega and found a picture of myself on the cover of the regional newspaper’s Summer Guide.

I got a call from Mark Reynolds at the Providence Journal and he said “I hear your the guy to talk to about foiling in New England.” And I said “Great let’s talk.”

Here’s the article he wrote about the growing foil scene in New England. I like to say we’ve finally hit

Foil Singularity

— It’s never too big, too small, too choppy, too windy, too perfect, too flat, or too crappy to foil.

It all works!!!

The game has completely changed. What used to be a “maybe we’ll get a session” situation has turned into “we’re riding no matter what.”

I have two kids and both my partner and I work full time. I only get small windows of time to dedicate to my favorite sports. When I have free time, I go foiling. As a surfer, SUP surfer, windsurfer - I used to get skunked a high percentage of the time I was free none of those could work. Now, I can literally ALWAYS find a way to foil at any time of day on any day of the week. SupFoil in the waves, Downwind, Winging, flatwater - it all plays. We have arrived, and just in the past two years it is getting even better. It isn’t just workable, its literally super fun every single time. Singularity indeed.
