I, a 190-200lb foiler, got the 1070 fireball, and 999v2 - tried ‘em with a sillyshort + 362/50 skinny tail. The 999v2 has lots of glide, possibly a bit more than the 1070. They both turned well, and were lots of fun. The 1070 feels more like a PNG style when pumping up, the 999v2 seemed to have so little lift you had to tilt it up to gain elevation - it’s a different pumping style for sure. I wasn’t able to get it up at all my first 20 minutes in 4’ ocean swell with 5-10mph winds, but was able to get up on flat water in 5-10mph winds on a 8’2" board.
If I had to choose one right now, I would go with the 1070, but I am happy to have both and will keep testing 'em.
