Hi, I currently own a Katana 75, I’m shopping for a longer mast 82 to 85, I only have Uni wings, I just wanted an opinion between Katana 83 and New Cedrus Aluminum.
The Cedrus will cost about $250 more with adapter, are there significant gains from getting the Aluminum Cedrus?
I ride the katana 75 and new aluminum 77 (which equals ~80), but I need more time to make a decent comparison

@dillionaire I’d love to hear your feedback on the evolution aluminium, please share any first impressions when you can, I’m not looking for elaborate reviews 
I only used it with my axis wings so far, but I do ride both Unifoil (e155, p140, p170, p200, h210, v150, v90) and axis (1150, 1201, 1300, 1401) daily. First impressions (downwind on 1201) is high quality with adapters and construction. Be aware of length. If you want a ~75cm equivalent, buy the cedrus aluminum 72. If you want ~80cm equivalent, buy the 75.
The stiffness seems good, but not overly noticeable yet (only one session in). Stiffness feels comparable to the axis 19mm aluminum (if you’ve ever been on that). But certainly stiffer than the katana, just not sure how much yet.
When your board touches the water I feel a drag penalty. That comes from both the additional length and width at the base. I don’t know the ratios (if its length or width causing more of the drag). I never ride anything above a 75 cm mast, so it could just be me adjusting to the additional length. When you’re up in the sweet spot, it feels great. Is it a “slippery” mast, too soon to tell.
It does hum. As expected. It really didn’t bother me and Sharks can only hear a low frequencies so that’s good news too. 
I’m going snowboarding for a week tomorrow, but once I ride a few more times I’ll try to report back
