Unifoil Torque Mast

Does anyone know of any online reviews or had any experience with the Torque masts? I’m on a Nolimitz V1 currently and the Torques are about 2.5 times more expensive than a 2nd hand Katana, which is the other option, so wondering if it’s with it?
67kg riding a P140 and P200.

The No limits v2 is much better than the katana I had previously. Not sure about the torque.

The T80 is a significant upgrade over the Katana both in stiffness and speed. Frankly, the Katana would probably feel slow coming off a NL, nor would it feel as stiff, especially at the longer lengths.

The T80 is very comparable to the NL v2 IMO.

Thanks mate, that’s very interesting. Maybe I’ll just plug away with the NLv1

Demo a T80 if you can, if you’re near north FL I’ll lend you mine.

Ah thank you, I’m in Australia though

Curious guy here: has anybody taken calipers to the 80T mast? I’m curious on its specs and can’t find any numbers on the website.

Thanks,

Seth

If there are specific dimensions you’re looking for I’m happy to measure mine

Hey Tanner-

That’d be great. Three chord measurements and three thickness measurements; near the fuse connection, mid mast, and just before the plate.

Have a good one,

Seth

Unfortunately, I don’t have calipers but in terms of the chord, it tapers from about 4 1/4 inches to around 5 inches. The midpoint is about 4 1/2 inches. Hope that helps. 33 inches total length, including the foot.

Thanks for that
If you get hold of some callipers, I’d love to know the thickness at a few points too. My NLv1 is 16.5mm all the way, which is pretty thick these days I think!

I went from Katana to Prog to NL V2 to Torque.
I found the Katana and Prog too slow for the waves here in West Oz but would be fine in slow weak waves.
NL v2 was a great mast: super light and slippery. The con was the connection points being carbon to ali, and the loss of warranty over 1m span, so I went over to the torque.
Torque is around 1kg heavier than the NLv2, which is slightly noticeable for me at 76kgs, however, feels stiffer and haven’t noticed any difference in efficiency.
Torque is a solid upgrade.

Ah sweet, thanks mate. That’s some solid information and I’m in WA too, so same conditions. Cheers!

Anyone have the weights of all these masts handy, the 75 Katana, 83 Katana, NL V2, Uni Torque, Uni Race? Trying to wrap my head around it all and make some decisions. Weight is important to me mainly for carrying my rig which I’m doing a lot lately at the Hatch when doing mini laps.

There’s some weights listed here New Uni Progression Mast? - #48 by Bart
