I am wake foil beginer.
I have an Axis 910 with a home made 1,4kg carbon board.
I have a problem at the statup that i think is due to a setup problem.
When i am pulled out of the water, my board sticks flat to the water, i must push on the rear foot to leverage the nose, then the board get out but as it gets a postivie angle the foils gets out of the water one second later even if i push hard on the front foot.
I suppose my angle between the fuselage and the board is too close, i bougth a 1degree rake wedge to open the angle, considering having the foil flat, i will have the board a bit more nose up so i will get out of the water without having the foil pull me down.
I am rigth or does i have sommething else to consider ?
I only wake foil, so I can give a bit of feedback.
What speed are you foiling at? It sounds like you might be going too slow. The foils I’ve ridden seem to want to pitch up somewhat aggressively at slower speeds.
Additionally, I’ve noticed a huge difference between 9-11mph. 10.5 seems to work best for us.
The board made a huge difference for me. I’m using a Dwarfcraft 110 and it’s about the easiest to manage. The only thing I did is add a 2deg shim on the front of the mast mount raising the nose of the board up a bit.
I bougth a second hand dwarfcraft slingshot boad and it is ok. No more broblems to get out.
My custom carbon has a too small surface and volume, the foil works before the board, that makes it very hard for wake start. I will keep it for pump only.
Thanks for the advices.
