Getting ready to head to Chicama soon. Was planning on riding my 680 for the trip. Now questioning whether I should try and grab a new MA690 for the trip. Any armstrong riders that have been there, have thoughts on this. I have seen a lot of guys that have ridden 480-680 there. Older videos of guys on the older ma 800 and 1000.
Check real watersports YouTube on Chicama. They talk about what foils work for their clients there.
All they talked about were the HA’s. The new MA’s were not out when they made those videos.
Even though I am not riding it much anymore, the 680HA is a great wing for that wave. there was only one day I would have said it might not have been fast enough.
Joey Harpstrite was even on the 480 at times, though I bet he is 140# dripping wet.
I spent a week there a year ago. I used the HA680 every morning for towing and every afternoon for winging; it was great. I brought the 780 and used it only on the first day in small/light conditions.
I recently bought a HA580 for towing in bigger conditions. I’m about 70 kg
