Code 1540S for flat water pump?

With the 1540S coming out has anyone given it a go as a flat water dock staring foil? Most of the reviews I’ve read about the 1300S said it wasn’t great for flat water pumping, I’m curious how the 1540S will fair even if it is a bit lower AR it’s finally in the same league for sqcm as the traditional flat water pump wings.

From someone who knows Code better than your average human: “Go the 1540 for flatwater but 1300 for Downwind. Paired with small fuse and 151R tail”. Hope this helps.

I’ve spent some time dockstarting various code and axis wings. Surprisingly the 860R was easier to start then the 1130S. Simply for the reason that the efficiency of the R made it easy to get those initial recovery pumps in. I personally would prefer a larger unreleased R wing over the S for anything related to pumping.

The 1300S is not that hard of a wing to start, if you’re able to easily start the axis 1201, the 1300s would be the next step.i don’t have the 1540, but All the code wings including the 1300s seem a bit too fast (which is both good for technique but bad if you’re looking to maximize your duration).

My durations
1300axis - 2.5min, 1201 - 1-1.5min, all code wings 0.5-1min 860r-1300s.

But I liked dockstarting the code wings and the 1201 to a degree since it’s the exact setup I would use in prone foiling. Unlike the axis 1300 which I can pump for over 2 minutes but it’s not applicable as it would never be used in the surf.

Here I was able to dockstart from a 2 meter dock the 1130 for about 30sec. It’s definitely a bit of a challenge for me and there were a lot of times when I couldn’t start the 1130 due to not running fast enough.
