Heading there in November for family getaway. It’s well known for surfing, but I am wondering if I should bring a foil. When at Nosara in Jan, Garza was not working and the grade of the bottom made kicking out was not easy. Anyone have intel on Doninical? Otherwise, I’ll just surf— not the end of the world ![]()
Been a while since I was there, but most of places I surfed in Dominical were beach breaks that were fairly wide open, excluding the main spot in town which is very busy. I think if the forecast looks small (very possible in winter) you could have a good time with a foil. There’s also a whale tail beach that had tons of softer rollers (and good snorkeling). Too soft for surfing but maybe fun on a foil in retrospect. Most of the reef there was far on the inside I think.
Greg intel! Thx very much.. sounds like I’m bringing a foil🤙
Dominicalito down the way seems like foil heaven. Scope it out and report back !

Saul Rasminski is a Realtor that lives in that Dominical. Area, he foils… hit him up for details.
