I like this so much, definitely captures the spirit of what it’s like to do turns in big bumps and have fun going downwind. What I’d share with people who are interested in downwind for sure
Thanks for sharing this! Was just about to share here myself. Definitely a session for the memory books over there.
It’s fun to go fast downwinding but nothing beats carving and connecting with as minimal pumping as possible and I love the way the f-one foils feel for this type of downwinding whether I’m on a sup or a little tow board like this.
Great music and fun looking foiling but is it really dw if you have a guy on ajetski following you around most likely towing you in everytime? Kinda more tow foiling in big ground swell?
100% it’s DW foiling!! This is as good as a representation of DW foiling that you will ever see. This guy has to be one of the most talented foilers in the world.
The whale was the highlight! I’ve been kite foiling with humpers around but capturing a breach like that on camera with you in the shot at that distance was crazy.
Sure, I used a jetski to get up on such a small board and foil, but this represents about 1% of my time downwind foiling if you check out some of my other content on instragram. I do everything from sup to parawing and even prone downwinding, but having the ability to ride a tiny setup for days like this and the jetski to capture follow cam footage with a gopro means I can share what some of those sessions feel like to more people. It’s also not a bad way to have some safety out there on a gnarly ocean like this.
IMO, parawinging is the best way to access sessions like this solo without needing a shuttle. It’s a bit of a learning curve but it really is the best way to lap sections of good bumps as efficiently as possible
