End of year foiling wrap-up

Since foilers are generally a nerdy group, myself included, I’m guessing I’m not the only one who tracks how many days I get on the water by discipline. Thought it would be interesting to see how everybody stacks up so post yours if you’re tracking! I’m very fortunate to live 15 minutes from the beach, have a flexible job, a good crew to keep me stoked, and an understanding wife!

Location: Charleston, South Carolina, USA

Total days on water: 140

Total Sessions (some days included multiple disciplines or sessions): 155

Breakdown by discipline:

Prone foil (includes runners): 56

Wing: 36

Kitefoil: 19

Old fashioned surfing: 12

Towfoil: 10

Wakefoil: 8

Twintip: 7

Supfoil (waves): 5

Kitesurf: 2

Looking forward to 2026, I definitely want to try to try to spend a little my time getting back to my pre-foiling roots on the kitesurf setup. I also look forward to more towfoil sessions as that is an option I didn’t have prior to August of this year.

Yeah, that was me. Great spot you have down there and so appreciate the whips! Hope to make another trip down this spring.

2,7 km longest wave! Where you at Chicama or what?

Garbage compared to last year on Folly! Fall 2024 was the best year of my life, more than 45 sessions of strong NE wind in September and October alone. 400 miles of runners just in those months. This year we barely scratched 15 good runner sessions since summer.
