Favorite electric tool for assembling foil

What is your favorite ELECTRIC tool to assemble your foil?

I like the Milwaukee m12 drill driver 2407-20 , it’s my favorite tool for speed and preventing damage to my gear , and also Super cheap on eBay , so not worried to abuse

It has a high speed option with torque control, and allows you to hand tighten using the drill (the bit locks do you just twist the drill). I set the torque on low and hand tighten

Ideally I’d like to find an impact drill with similar features including torque control and hand tightening ability that can hit closer to 3000 rpm.

Hold the anti-electric tool comments

I use the Skil 12v impact. It has a nice low speed setting and it’s cheap enough I don’t feel bad when I’m handling it with wet salty hands. The slow speed lets me let it off when I hear that first impact. The REAL trick is to use Torx for your m6 and hex for your m8 and you can use that Torx driver for both so you always have the right bit in.

I’m afraid to use power tool. But I love the prestacycle torqkey.

You can adjust the torque on powertools so you don’t have to worry about stripping. I use Ryobi and start on 12-14 (out of 22) and screw everything down then switch it to 20+ and carefully lock it all down.

I’m checking this one out now. I like the idea of having a torque level instead of using my overpowered construction tools.

5V electric screwdrivers like that are perfect, been using for 4-5 years now. The amazon basics one is really good but I have a Ryobi

I really like this one

I think the best tool would really be one of those 12 V electric socket wrenches. You are Tightening and loosening by hand for high torque and electric for speed below torque

I use this it’s great

Not nearly enough torque to damage your gear but once you max it out you can just turn the screwdriver to hand tighten. Sometimes I’m worried that I’m damaging the screwdriver when I do this but it’s not expensive so whatever

A cheap electric ratchet from Amazon has been my favorite. Run the bolts in then use as a wrench. My current one is over two years old and has been dropped in the sand and been wet multiple times.

I hold a 9 volt battery in my left hand while turning a T-handle torx wrench with my right hand. Does this count as electric?

Switch to a single 18650 Li-Po and you’ll double your rpm :joy:

all these handhold tools (the cheap ones) were too slow.

I want something very fast that I can lock and torque manually at the end?

The same as how I spin the L key and then flip to torque it.

I had one of the basic ~5v and it was too slow to be worth the hassle

This one does just that
