Front wing stucked to the mast, how to do?

Hi everyone,

I have a small problem, when I wanted to change my front wing, it was impossible to remove my 170 progression.

I tried to put my feet on the board and make forward / backward movements but nothing does, it does not come out. I’ve got carbon gear, so it’s not rusty, but could you give me a tip to try another technique? I really like to manage switching to a smaller wing with the pumping conditions on the way !

Couple whacks with a rubber mallet?

I never had any issues separating my Uni wings from the mast as the tolerance wasn’t that tight.

I would definitely take the mast off the board, so you don’t ruin your tracks.

Stand on the base plate of the mast and whack upwards with a rubber mallet on the fuselage of the wing. Couple taps and you should be fine.

100% agree with @Tanner.0 . Definitely don’t be whacking the foil when your whole setup is still attached to the board.

Also, I’d recommend putting a a towel, board sock, or something on the ground before setting the mast base plate down and then standing on it. Will keep the rubber pad on the back of the baseplate from getting torn up.

Another good tip is to fold up a towel and wrap it around the foil before giving it a few good whacks to loosen it. Rubber mallets don’t usually mark up the foil, but having the towel wrapped around it is a little extra insurance against that happening. Also allows you to use your closed fist in a pinch if a rubber mallet isn’t available!

Use a rubber hammer, works great

Set it in the grass foil down board up, step on the front and back wings and move it…

I use the method at the end of this video. If the wing is really tight I hit the fuselage near the stabilizer instead and it comes off a bit easier.

I am doing the same too, always work. But I do it with the mast on the floor, not on the board to preserve the box from unnecessary shock !

Thanks everybody for all the tips. The one from the video worked directly after a few hit

Now, to follow, how do you do when the fuse is stuck to the front wing ? :no_mouth: :smiling_face_with_tear:

Twist it back and forth and it should loosen up.
