Trying to work in more strapless jumps into my wing sessions. Anyone have tips/advice?
I land about 1/4 of them and tend to separate from the board while in air. Landing seems to require a good amount of back foot pressure but other that would love to hear how you’ve found consistent success.
If you’re going strapless for safety, I got 3 half straps, and feel pretty comfortable with them. It’s super easy to get out of them, and have never had a problem. I’ve done full straps, but am much more cautious with them.
here is a pov of a strapless air I do at my local lake. I find doing a ollie like front foot scrape motion helps stay with the board. Keeping the front foot flat, you end up kicking it away from you sometimes.
Definitely all legs for me, and making the most of the mast height to get a big deep powerful pump before the jump. But then once in the air, its all wing, sheet in to control the landing force.
