Where to prone with a Foil Drive in San Diego south of North County?

Regular surfer here crossing over to the prone foil side of life. I’ve been wing foiling for years as well and adding the prone w/ foil drive to my world. I live near OB in San Diego and curious about where I could / should go as a newbie prone foiler but with location options hopefully unlocked now that I’ll be equipped with a Foil Drive too. (Max high power battery) I want to be nowhere near surfers and don’t have access to a boat for those classic locations. I know San-o and Del Mar are awesome for this but would love to maximize smaller windows of time closer to where I’ll be. Sunset cliffs looks to have some options but it’s crazily shallow for a long time on the way out and then some serious kelp on the outside… Any tips are greatly appreciated!

I’m going to bet I know you since you wing as well. I don’t think you are going to get much of a response on here. Asking that on here is almost like asking surfers for spots… and the fact that you mentioned FD makes it even worse. I prone, no FD, and still find it uneasy discussing spots…

What I would say, drive around a bit and look at prospective spots during high tide that seem to still crumble far away enough from the beach. If you don’t see any surfers around after multiple days of looking at it during various swell sizes, it could be fair game. Kelp is always a problem around here as I’m sure you know and it’ll get worse the colder it gets before a lot of it starts dying off next summer. The one good thing FD will give you is you can ride places where no surfers will venture AND prone guys can’t paddle into. That’s where FD shines.
