Been doing the same I think - are you shimming 0.5° with thick part on the rear screw of the stab?
I’ve found it releases unwanted front foot pressure and glides better - so it let’s me surf easier - more in the feet balance I like-

Correct, being bottom mount thick end aft is less negative lift/less drag.
Just had an epic 4 hour session with the E700 x chopped 38 HA (standard fuse, shorter position). Totally understand how it could be a daily driver now.
Waves were mostly chest to overhead and did not once feel overpowered. Handled speed and turbulence with ease, turns were way easier than I expected - honestly made me think what I will use my silk 850 for now… Only downside was I haven’t figured out the pump cadence yet but hoping a few more sessions will help me get it dialed.
I am going to try the silk 650 tomorrow and report back - STOKED!
Holy sweet carving jesus. I can’t believe I waited this long to test out my 650 Silk. I know it’s not a new wing but WOW.
If anyone is on the fence about buying one, don’t think twice. I just had the single best day of my life in waves today. Just when I thought my foilbrain couldn’t get any worse, this thing just blew my mind. I can’t wait to test the limits more tomorrow.
Biggest surprise was the range. It handled slower speeds and weaker waves way better than I expected. I felt like my carving improved 5x in just a few hours. So so stoked.
Overall, I feel like I’ve been afraid to go below 800cm for a while - for some reason thinking that a anything smaller is for towing or big days only. Moral of the story - go out and try new stuff. Even if you think it might be ‘too small’ for the conditions. You just might surprise yourself!
I honestly think the 650 Silk might become my new daily driver with the E700 for days I need extra glide. Feels like the perfect quiver for my 68kg now.
Conditions today were waist to chest high, 15 second period. Clocked the 650 at 29 km/h vs. similar conditions yesterday on the E700 at 30 km/h. Both are excellent wings but there is no question my smile was 2x bigger riding the silk 650 today. Well done AFS. Well done.
Well done. Now you get to have the crazy experience of going back and riding something other than the 650 and feeling like the turns are in slow motion
I put about 3 hours in on the 650 yesterday and then felt like I was in lounge mode on the 850 today!
ah man I knew this was gonna happen will need to swap out the 850 then
Starting a betting pool on whether those 650 tips survive the trip to Peru
Haha the tips barely survived yesterday! Already sanding them down a bit. Those things are rock magnets.
Can’t wait for round two this afternoon.
My experience is that the tips on the Enduros are super pointy and sharp for a couple sessions, but don’t worry hit a couple rocks and sand them safe with a rock on the beach, continue to pump like a god:nerd_face:
This is the approximately monthly plea for a Silk designed for the Enduro fuselage. If anyone has AFS’ ear, whisper it in there please!
I meant @TheFoilKook betting on if he is going chop the silk tips off to loosen it up even further!
I heard they are working on a V2 for 2026 - I would be shocked if they don’t go that route!
I heard about a detachable rear fuselage. Like FOne or Lift.
Should be there before summer for the new Ultra sizes.
Hi!! Can you show us how much you chopped the stab ?
Has anyone chopped a 700 Enduro ?? Wonder if that would work
Thanks!
I chopped a 142 stab (due to damage).
It’s pretty wild now and i use it with the silk 850. I can pump this setup forever and pretty easily connect 5+ waves most times. It has much less (stab) lift (feels like a negative shim), glides really well.
It’s very very loose now though, kinda in a fun out of control way that I’m really enjoying, but i can see why this kinda setup doesn’t come as standard.
Got to take the Enduro 900 standard fuse short position out for the first time the other day and compared it directly to the Silk 1050. I rode them back to back with the 75cm UHM skinny mast and Mako Glide 120 tail on each of them. 3m sail, thigh high swell, 250kcfs of river flow fighting against the glide. Went 4 miles downwind and then 4 miles upwind.
Enduro 900 was buttery smooth, possibly the smoothest ride I’ve ever had on foil. Phenomenal glide through dead zones. I was told that the 900 pretty much completely replaces the Silk 1050 and from a low end perspective I think that could be true. The 350mm span on the Glide 120 tail surely loosens this up vs something like the ha38. I want to try this foil with the short fuse.
Silk 1050 has very similar low end and with the Glide 120 tail it gets a big boost to its speed range but it still has nowhere near the glide of the 900. However, the turns are undeniably better on the 1050. I normally ride the 1050 with a 295mm span tail (Mako Carve 130) which loosens it up even more but even with the wider glide tail I felt like you can really smash on carves and top turns with the 1050 whereas the 900 just couldn’t get rail to rail fast enough to power up the turns.
Average speed on both sessions was exactly the same at 12.5mph but the 1050 showed a speed span of around 10mph (7-17mph range) whereas the 900 maintained it’s speed nearly the entire session (11-14mph) and needed less rescues from the wing.
After trying them back to back I really felt like the 900 is exquisite for paddling and parawinging whereas the 1050 is still king for small swell surfing, especially with a wing to pull it out of holes.
I’ve been meaning to post an update about 1300, 1100, and 900 now that I have a bunch of time on them (Supfoil at 95kg).
The 1300 is magical for big foil conditions. It is the best surfing “big efficient wing” that I know of. Pumps effortless even at my size, great speed range - it can handle going fast. messy conditions are not so great, it is a lot of wing.
The 1100 is an all arounder for me. Surfs better than 1300 as it should being smaller, still a great speed range and pumps very efficiently. I will grab this foil for almost anything.
The 900 has been a bit of a disappointment for me. I love riding bigger faster more powerful conditions with it. When things are going right, what a fun foil! But at my weight if it gets going too slowly its over. It just falls out and can’t take a pump back up to speed. To be clear, I can pump it, and it is efficient, but I have to be perfectly at the top of my game to keep speed up.
I’ll probably drop the 900 out of my quiver and go back to the Code 860 or maybe something else like it (perhaps Atlas?). There is no question in my mind that that 860 is better in every way for my size and style.
What mast are you riding (particularly curious on the 1300)? Seems like its stiff enough whatever it is based on how much you like the foil.
Your feeling on the 900 is similar to what I feel on the 700 (my only Enduro), but its still got a spot in the quiver for me.
80cm UHM AFS mast. It is plenty stiff, mast is really not a problem. I think just the size of the wing means it experiences the turbulence in different ways in different parts of the foil.
Im 100kgs at the moment and ride both the E1100/1300 with HA40 and 152 tail sup foiling and winging with 80 UHM, agree with everything @jondrums says about these foils, amazing for guys 90+kg. The only thing I’ve noticed is winging bigger faster swell overhead + waves is the E1100 struggles to keep up whilst the wave is building (maybe due to it’s span) and that is when it would make sense to drop to a smaller foil, but I don’t think the E900 is the answer for me. I believe the silk 1050/850 might be a better option due to smaller wing span and chord being bigger on silk than the small 122mm chord on the E900, and for harder carving and can use the wing when too far on the shoulder and power has diminished.
Unfortunately I do not have the luxury to demo the E900 or silk to confirm this theory so I’m sitting on the side lines, some have mentioned the silk 1050 doesn’t have speed to keep up with a building overhead wave. I’m leaning to the S850 as I could use it kite foiling too but am concerned the 850 is too small and won’t have the glide winging big waves and would need to be super powered all the time…
